"i wasn't sure if we could parlay that into something more, i dunno, sexual."
it's so 'miss janet if your nasty' outside today. this is the second day in a row i've had to use public transportation into the office. i hate it! it takes foreeeeeeeeever. i read in the paper yesterday that in 2007 the mbta is practically doubling all of the fares. and for what? the same shitty service? no thanks. it takes me 30 minutes to get up the street, if it wasn't raining it would prolly be quicker to walk.

i'd tap that brain, if i were straight that is.it has given me time to catch up on my reading though. there is a really cool article in rolling stone about amanda congdon, the vlog star. does anyone else watch rocketboom? i heart amanda. she's like the female version of the guy i want to end up with. she's sexy and incredible dorky. i guess she used to be a formal model, which makes me giggle because she has the personality of someone who'd probably mock models openly on the air. anywho, if you have tivo you can subscribe to the rocketboom podcasts. they're about 5 minutes a day and plenty amusing and often full of bush-bashing. hehe.

there is also a great cover story written by several historians who agree by a margin of 90/10% on just who is "the worst president ever" any guesses who they came up with? hee. the article is full of facts like this one: "according to the treasury department, the fourty-two presidents who held office between 1789 and 2000 borrowed a combined total of $1.01 trillion from banks and foreign governments. but between 2001 and 2005 alone, the bush white house borrowed $1.05 trillion, more than all of the previous presidencies combined. having inherited the largest federal surplus in american history in 2001, he has turned it into the largest deficit ever - with an even higher deficit, 423 billion, forcast for fiscal year 2006. they go on to discuss just about every area of the presidency comparing him to the worst and he's always on top in each category. who are these people that still support this asshat?

in other news i got a voice mail from michael yesterday. he thanked me for coming out to support the team but he wasn't as cutesy or playful as he normally is. :-/ i didn't have time to call him back last night since i bolted to the gym with kyle as soon as i got home and then i had a date right after that.

my date with tim went well. i watched prison break and 24 with him at his place. he was hooked of course, i didn't realize how complicated the storylines were until i tried to explain what was going on up until this point. he loves jean smart and chloe of course.

i wasn't sure if he was all that into me at first because we've been flirting-friends for so long. i wasn't sure if we could parlay that into something more, i dunno, sexual. at first he was sitting on the sofa opposite me. it wasn't very conducive to snuggling lemme tell you. that g-dam glass coffee table between us was hard and my feet couldn't even reach his feet. haha. he eventually moved over to my sofa citing it was higher and he felt like i was looking down on him. i said, "i've always looked down on you, you're from rhode island." hee. i'm joking! we almost touched feet once but that was about it. i think he's hot but i just wasn't sure what he thought. he's so hard to read. he's one of those people that can throw up blockers and i can't get a read on him. he was incredibly nervous, that's all i could read.

we got to catch up a lot. he's really one of most well-rounded people i've ever met. he has a great job. he's active, he's in crew, he owns his own business on the side. he owns a house in rhode island and a couple of dogs that his mom sits for him because he can't have dogs in his condo in boston.

it was raining when i left so he insisted on driving me home even though i only live like 10 blocks away. as we sat in his car, it was very strange, i really could not tell if he wanted me to kiss him or if he wanted to kiss me. so i leaned in and gave him a quick kiss and dove out of the car. as soon as i got in the elevator he sent me a text message saying, "sorry i was so shy!!" i told him i wasn't sure if he was still into me, and he said was stil VERY interested in me. i told him next time it would probably be a good idea to make physical contact some time during the date. haha. he said that he "wanted to touch me so many times" but "he was a wuss." haha. ok well i'm glad we got that out of the way. phew. next up, date two-boogaloo.

"he loves jean smart and chloe of course."

I approve of him immensly. :) After that statement it may even be possible for me to overlook the fact that he's from Rhode Island. {shiver} :P

We may have to have a pow wow, you and I, after my 'coffee date' tonight. I'm noticing myself pulling away already and I haven't even gone on the freakin' thing yet! "he's one of those people that can throw up blockers" - that's me right now.

P.S. - I want to kick President Logan in the Scrotum, and I want Martha to sober up, open her door, punch that secret service agent with no personality in the throat, march into the Presidents office, and get courching tiger hidden dragon on his ass. GRRRRRR!!!! [though i did *heart* the chloe/taser scene hahaha]

well i wanted to go all chloe on the subway this morning. it was just moving soooooooooooo slow. i wanted to knock the driver out of the seat and hijack it to new england medical center. haha.

but since you asked, i had a peanut butter clif builders bar and 20 ounces of water. you?

Ohhhh I can't be sure, but I think tazering the subway driver and hijacking the subway MIGHT get you into trouble. I just had a bagel this morning, and some yogurt. hmph.

It's one of those mornings I would've loved to just call in sick and stay on the couch and watch DVD's all day. {les sigh} I hope it's not this bad tomorrow - I don't mind playing soccer in the rain... but not COLD rain! :(

it's so cold out. i hate this weather. i so didn't want to get up today. my eyes are all puffy and itchy. i hate this season. bring on the summer and faster public transport! the mbta should thank their lucky stars i don't own a taser. lol.

...Now you see why I flipped when you said I wouldn't last in California. hahahaha. I'd go there in a heartbeat!

I can get you a taser, but I'm too afraid you'd stun-gun yourself by accident. There I'd be, waiting outside your building to pick you up to go to the gym, or waiting at Club Cafe and you not showing up - because you're lying on your living room floor unconscious with a lil drool coming out of your mouth... twitching occaisionally. Not a pretty sight, my dear. Keep working on the Stink Eye ;) It's safer.

oh tasering myself would make a really cute video though. hahahah.

i was going to ask you for stink-eye tips but i don't think the driver could see me from the back of the bus where i roll with my homies.

haha. well i wasn't sure if he was still into me so i didn't want it to be weird if i made a move and he was all, "what you doin'?" i mean he's been chasing me since i was with dennis in the most platonic sense. as friends he had a crush on me and i had no idea. he told me way after when dennis was dicking with me. he's such a nice guy though he even offered to do some cheap body work on dennis' car when it was vandalized. lol. he's really just a great guy who's very hard to read.

What people don't realize about public transportation is that their financial model is inverted of most other businesses because so much of their money comes from local, state, and federal subsidy programs.

So, the more customers your local public transit has, the more personnel they have to hire, buses they have to buy and maintain, lightrail tracks that must be extended, etc., which in turn means they either need to charge a higher fare or get more subsidies to pay for it all.

(Reply to this) (Thread)

mbta!
[info]garyjr
2006-05-02 05:37 pm UTC (link)
but they don't meet the needs now. they're raising fares because they've operated at a loss for years on end. they're in a pit and they can't did themselves out. they need more quality workers who actually give a dam as well. every employee from the drivers to turnstyle people that i run into act so "put-upon". everything is an inconvenience to most of these pricks. it's really sad. and they're all so fucking slow! i swear the mbta is run by a group of turtle/human hybrids.

That's what I'm saying though - most public transit technically operates at a loss because they constantly have to either raise fares or get more subsidies.

If it's an issue of customer service, you need to start calling them and telling them about the specific incidences you're experiencing so it can be addressed. That's how Tri-Met here got better.

Next time you see Tim give him a quick kiss and chest touch, that'll get things settled fast.

But Michael... Michael does sound of great interest.

I think the tougher question, though not to make light of the current situation, for me has always been who is right for me now and who is right for me long term.

Everyone's got low and high points. It's not fair to have to judge them against one another so I'm usually doing the same thing: trying to find who is more compatible with me.

I bet you already know which one right now. Who do you most often find yourself thinking about? Really, if you've gone this long waiting for Mr. Right what's a little longer if he needs time? You've been there right?

From following your entries in LJ I think all of us readers can agree you're a sweet guy who deserves the same.

The process may be nigh unbearable but in the end it's worth it.

Too bad about the weather there. It has warmed a little here, but it still hasn't gotten hot - only the upper 90's this week here in Phoenix - but it is "A Dry Heat." Send the rain to us - LOL.
